What we do

We create award-winning content: from thought-leadership articles, to print magazines.

Our Approach

Journalism is at the heart of everything 89up does.

We publish the award-winning Little Atoms magazine, podcast and website, packed with interviews and features on literature, culture, science and politics from the world’s best writers.

89up’s team of journalists can tailor your style and content to the needs of the individual outlets you want to be seen in. Our clients have appeared everywhere in the UK from the Sun to the Spectator, and the BBC to Buzzfeed. Internationally, we’ve placed our clients in high-quality international publications including the New York Times and Washington Post, through to El Mundo and Der Spiegel.

89up has created bespoke sponsored policy supplements and country profiles with the New Statesman during political party conference season, helping clients highlight issues to an influential audience.

Our combination of journalism, advocacy and legal expertise mean we produce compelling, readable reports on complex issues.

Case study: This Is A Coup

89up partnered with BRITDOC (a non-profit committed to enabling great documentary films) to deliver impact distribution for Paul Mason and Theopi Skarlatos’ online documentary series #ThisIsACoup, including supporting the delivery of a full PR and social media campaign for the films.

Our press and social media strategy targeted five separate international markets in four languages, reaching bespoke audiences and ensuring maximum impact amongst influencers.

Alongside multi-lingual press releases, we organised one to one interviews with media outlets including Monocle (international) and Kouti Pandoras (Greece), and helped the film’s producers create opinion pieces linked to the film’s themes of democracy and protest in Greece and the European Union

Our press strategy delivered dozens of articles spanning both national and international press including: El Mundo, The Huffington Post, La Vanguardia, The Nation and Open Democracy among others.

Overall, coverage of #ThisIsACoup spanned five countries across two continents.
